(Correspondent: Li Han) In recent days, the Education Department of Shaanxi released the review results of the Youth Innovation Team of Shaanxi Universities in 2019, and totally 6 XDU teams were selected. The “Intelligent Manufacturing and Intelligent Decision-making” Innovation Team led by our SEM Professor Sun Bingzhen stood out through tight encirclement and became the only selected team of Xidian University in the field of humanities & social sciences.
“Intelligent Manufacturing and Intelligent Decision-making” Innovation Team, based on the platform of Xidian University “Key Laboratory of Electronic Equipment Structure Design of Ministry of Education”, relied on XIAN XD Transformer Co., Ltd., AECC XI'AN AERO-ENGINE LTD. and other manufacturing enterprises to carry out the scientific research and talent cultivation. In this team, totally 14 members, including 1 person selected in the “Thousand Young Talents” Program of Shaanxi Province and 1 person included in the “Hundred Talents Program” of Shaanxi Province, have undertaken over 30 projects such as the key programs and general programs by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the 863 Program projects by Ministry of Science and Technology, the humanities & social science programs by Ministry of Education, and projects of Shaanxi Province and Xi’an City, published more than 150 papers including over 50 SCI papers, invented multiple patents as entrusted, published multiple works, and participated in the formulation of two national standards. This team has won the second prize of the Science and Technology Award of Shaanxi Province, the third prize of the National Defense Science and Technology Progress Award of Shaanxi Province, the Natural Science Award of Gansu Province, and other scientific research awards. This team, based on the situation of Shaanxi Province, runs deeply in the ground of Shaanxi Province to solve the problems in and of Shaanxi Province, and helps Shaanxi to change from the “great province of manufacturing” to the “powerful province of manufacturing”. Meanwhile, it conducts the prospective study with the aim at latest trend of the domestic and foreign manufacturing industry, utilizes the strong advantage and outstanding characteristic of Xidian University in the electronic information field, focuses on the engineering management problem during the research and manufacturing of the high-end electronic equipment of China, and keeps up with the international frontier of theory and application of the intelligent manufacturing and intelligent decision-making, to form the featured construction way integrated with data, information, economy and management and the development mode of “problem-driven, theoretical research, management innovation and demonstrative application”. This team carries out the basic theoretical research and management practice innovation in combination with the theories and methods of the intelligent manufacturing, AI and intelligent decision-making, and achieves the comprehensive development and growth of all team members through implementation of specific project research, so as to form the team effect and innovation highland of excellent talents.
This successful obtainment of approval by the “Intelligent Manufacturing and Intelligent Decision-making” Innovation Team will further give play to the team effect of excellent talents, facilitate the collaborative innovation, practically help the development of the school disciplines, and drive the interdisciplinary research within the University. It is reported that, in order to strongly support “four first-grade” construction and connotative development of higher education of the Shaanxi universities, the Education Department of Shaanxi proposes to cultivate and establish 150 youth innovation teams with high moral quality, solid academic basis and outstanding innovation ability and development potential from 2019 to 2022. In this application of the Youth Innovation Team of Shaanxi Universities, 93 Youth Innovation Teams of Shaanxi Universities were selected through the selection and recommendation by the universities, formal review of materials, expert review, and the deliberation of the 3rd Department Affair Meeting of the Education Department of Shaanxi in 2019.
