In order to carry forward and disseminate Chinese culture, spread the voice of Xidian University and expand international influence, 14 teachers and students from Arts Department of School of Humanities were selected to go to Berlin University of Arts, Germany, for academic exchange activities from November 21 to 27, 2019 after preliminary consultation with Department of International Cooperation and Exchange at the invitation of Berlin University of Arts, Germany.
On 25th November, the visiting troupe arrived at Berlin University of Arts, Professor Weigelt of Recording Department received the visiting troupe and expressed his warm welcome. Mr. Wang Chenglai and Professor Weigelt held formal talks in the cafe in the building. The two sides exchanged views on the specialty building and student training of their respective universities, and had detailed talks on the cooperation intention of the two sides in the future. Professor Weigelt enjoyably accepted the invitation to pay a return visit to Xidian University.
Professor Weigelt led the visiting troupe to visit a number of recording studios, audio and video editing rooms, various recording equipment, concert halls, etc. with different configurations at Berlin University of Arts, and made detailed introductions and exchanged views with the students. In a recording control room equipped with a 10.1 channel playback system, the members of the visiting troupe enjoyed the simultaneous recording of church symphonies, piano and voice recording, rock music, etc. produced by the recording team of Berlin University of Arts. The students had a new understanding of the listening sense of surround music.
At about 6:00p.m., when the lights were on, Mr. Wang Chenglai presented a gift to the Recording Department of Berlin University of Arts on behalf of Arts Department of Xidian University, which witnessed the beginning of good exchange and contact between the two universities. Then the team took a group photo and the visit of Arts Department of Xidian University to Berlin University of Arts was successfully concluded.
The purpose of this visit was "Not Forgetting the Original, Absorbing Foreign Culture and Facing the Future" to realize cultural inheritance, establish cultural confidence, strengthen cultural vitality and take this opportunity to tell a good story about China, spread the voice of Xidian University and enhance the cultural exchange ability and international horizon of university students. It's an important measure for School of Humanities to innovate the training mode and improve the quality of talent cultivation and also a milestone achievement in the foreign affairs work of School of Humanities. At the same time, it broadened students' horizons and increased their knowledge, which had a positive and far-reaching impact on their future professional study and development.
In the long run, School of Humanities and Berlin University of Arts reached an intention to exchange visits of teachers, visits of students, specialty building, undergraduate training, postgraduate admission, introduction of international courses and other follow-up exchanges and cooperation, which opened up a way and laid a foundation for exchanges between our university and international first-class art colleges and universities.
