(Correspondent Han Wei) At 11:00a.m. on December 26, Professor Zhang Xinya exchanged views with 20 student representatives of Arts Department on issues concerned by students, such as GPA required applying for postgraduate study, major setup, employment and other issues.

Professor Zhang Xinya explained to the students the basic requirements for applying for postgraduate study project subsidized by China Scholarship Council. Generally speaking, applicants needed to be fresh graduates. The application age of Master Degree Candidate should not exceed 30 years old. They needed to have a good specialized foundation and development potential. Their foreign language level should meet the requirements stipulated in theConditions for Foreign Languages for Studying Abroad Subsidized by China Scholarship Council. The selection was generally implemented by adopting the method of "individual application, unit recommendation, expert evaluation and merit-based enrollment". The application time is generally from February 20 to March 20 each year. Students for government-sponsored study abroad are encouraged to return to China for employment and required to sign contracts for returning to China for employment. Therefore, even if there are only a few thousand places for students for government-sponsored study abroad every year, it is still very popular and had good prospects.
