After years of development and change, School of Humanities and Arts of Xidian University has currently formed four disciplines (departments) including philosophy, Chinese, history and art, and three undergraduate programs including philosophy, Chinese language and literature and recording art; besides, the School is presently provided with first-level discipline master site of philosophy and second-level discipline doctor site of management philosophy.

The teaching team under School of Humanities and Arts plays an important role in the School's undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and cultural quality education. The School has a national-level base for quality-oriented education, namely national cultural and quality education base for university students, and a provincial-level research base, namely Shaanxi Smart Society Development Strategy Research Center; the School established Zhongnan Culture Academy to regularly hold "celebrity" seminar and "theory road of Zhongnan" reading party. In the aspect of carrying forward traditional Chinese culture, the School has formed series brand, such as "Chinese manners and respects series" classic reading of Chinese humanity, classic singing of Chinese humanity and art and "Ming De Zhi Shan" Cup Chinese Poetry Competition; and the School's dancing club and chorus won the school's first prize for successive 5 years.

In recent years, the college has undertaken numerous research subjects on philosophy and social sciences of the Ministry of Education and Shaanxi Province, successfully held multiple high-level national academic conferences, and realized continuous improvement in scientific research level and academic influence.

So far, the School has 63 permanent and on-the-job teaching and administrative staffs (55 full-time teachers, 8 professors and 25 associate professors), 2 Huashan distinguished professors and 4 external part-time professors. In recent years, the full-time teachers have been provided with continuous optimization in age, education and learning-origin structure.
