Recently, Professor Yang Dandan from the School of Mathematics and Statistics and Professor Victoria Gould from the University of York published a paper inAdvances in Mathematics, a top international journal in the field of mathematics. The paper is entitled "Coherency for monoids and purity for their acts".

The reviewer gave high praise to this research: "In my opinion, this paper is a very substantial contribution to algebra (more specifically to semigroup theory) and I strongly recommend its publication."

This is the second time that Dandan Yang published a paper in this journal after 2019. This publication is an important breakthrough in the field of mathematical research at Western Electric.
