(By WANG Xin, ZOU Tiantian) The "Culture and Civilization Forum" with the theme of "Overseas Dissemination and Influence of Chinese Culture" was held in Thailand Krirk University on October 31. Dr. WANG Xin, Associate Professor of the Translation Department of the School of Foreign Languages, Xidian University, was invited to attend the forum and make a keynote speech.

Based on the latest research achievements in translation studies, Dr. WANG Xin made a report on the status quo and new development of English translation of Chinese classics in the 21th century. Dr. Wang introduced the main achievements of the English translation of Chinese classics and analyzes the domestic research of classics translation.She summarized the characteristics of the translation process into intralingual translation + interlingual translation and proposes the qualifications for a good translator.

Scholars and students from China, Singapore, the United Kingdom, the United States, Russia and other countries participated in the forum through the online and offline mode. Experts and scholars shared and exchanged views on topics including the Chinese culture and civilization, translation of Chinese ancient classics, dissemination and influence of Chinese culture, cultural exchanges and mutual learning of civilizations, etc.
