With the development of Xidian’s internationalization, international students are becoming more and more interested in learning Chinese traditional culture. On November 18th, a total of 45 international students from the Department of International Education of Chinese Language and the Preparatory Center of School of Foreign Languages visited the Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum to feel the unique historical and cultural value of Terracotta Warriors and Horses and strengthen the recognition and dissemination of traditional Chinese culture.

As the starting point of the Silk Road, Xi’an has its own imprint in Chinese culture. The Terracotta Warriors and Horses is one of the shining points in the imprint. It attracts a large number of tourists and researchers from all over the world every year due to thousands of modellings and its grand lineup. The lifelike pottery figurines not only record a large of social details in the historical period, but also show the splendor of ancient Chinese culture.

The staff of the Social Education Department of the Emperor Qinshihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum welcomed the international students in front of No. 1 Pit and explained the plastic art of the Terracotta Warriors and Horses along the way. In listening to the detailed introduction, the international students gained a deeper understanding of Chinese cultural heritage, and further arouse the enthusiasm of learning Chinese culture.

Over the past two years, through the effective advancement of joint construction work, teachers and students have been selected to carry out practical activities in the museum, and the museum has been built as a second classroom for teachers and students in teaching practice. The visit of international students to learn Chinese culture is an innovation in the educational practice of the Department of International Education of Chinese Language and an important measure to improve the level of international education.
