On February 28th, a specialsigning ceremony of the construction of Xidian-Guangzhou Research Institute between Xidian University (Xidian) and GuangzhouMunicipal Government (Guangzhou) was held. The ceremonymarks comprehensive cooperation between Xidian and Guangzhou in fields of high-level talent introduction and cultivation andresearchplatforms construction.Senior Representatives of related partiesattended the ceremony.

Dr.Xianyou Zha, Party Secretaryof Xidianpointed out that the establishment of Xidian-Guangzhou Research Institute is an indispensable measure to Xidian to actively integrate into the development of the Greater Bay Area. Xidian will cooperate with Guangzhou hand in hand to build theInstitute with high-standard planning, high-qualified construction and high-level starting point. It is expected to be the gathering place of high-level talents, the innovation base of major scientific researches and the demonstration base of talent cultivationn. It is aimed at promoting the construction of Double World First-Class UniversityInitiatives of Xidian, and making great contributions to the economic and social development ofGuangzhouandtheGreater Bay Area.

Xidian-Guangzhou Research Institute will be located at theSino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City, a bilateral cooperation project between China and Singapore. TheInstituteis ready tocooperate withworld-renowned universities and institutions, aiming at introducing high-quality higher education resources and forming high ground for international scientific and technological cooperation in the Greater Bay Area,andpromoting Xidian’sconstruction of the World first-class university.

An estimated 600 graduates of Xidian University will study in the Institute this Fall.
