On the evening of September 11, Clarivate Analytics updated the latest ESI ranking data. The research period for the data is January 1, 2009 to June 30, 2019.

Xidian's major of Geoscience entered the top 1% of ESI for the first time, ranking the 691th worldwide (the 49th in domestic universities) with a ranking rate of 691/697=0.991%. On the whole, Geoscience in XDU has published 766 papers, with a citation frequency of 6413 times and an average citation frequency of 8.42 times per paper.

At the same time, engineering major and computer science major rank among the top1‰worldwide, a steady increase. Specifically, the engineering major ranks the 93rd in the world, 6 places higher than the previous record, with a ranking rate of 0.633‰(93/1468). It has made to the 21st place in domestic universities, 1 place higher than the previous ranking. The computer science major ranks 27th in the world (5^thin domestic universities, the top 4 being Tsinghua University, Southeast University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Zhejiang University). Its international ranking increased by 1 place, with the ranking rate of 27/463 (0.583).
