Xidian News (By LI Wenhui, LI Xinyue) On the morning of June 1, the opening ceremony of the 2022 “ZHI-XING CHINA -- Xidian University global young leaders program” hosted by the Division of International Cooperation & Exchange and undertaken by the School of Economics and Management was successfully held at Conference Room 324, Xinyuan Building, South Campus of Xidian. Chen Huilin, Dean of the School of International Education, Chen Xi, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics and Management, project instructors and 10 Chinese and foreign students participated in the activity. The meeting was chaired by Zhang Weili, head of international affairs at the School of Economics and Management.

In his speech, Chen Huilin said that the leaders program provides an exchange platform for outstanding youths from China and abroad to show their styles. He hoped that the participants can deeply experience how technology helps farmers achieve common prosperity, perceive the symbiotic relationship between “high-quality development” and “sustainable development” in cities through in-depth visits to rural areas in western China and coastal cities in southeast China, touching the pulse of the times in contemporary China through a close perception of China, experience of China, and understanding of China. He also expected that Chinese and foreign youths will enhance exchanges, establish friendship, spark inspiration in the exchange of learning and thinking, and continue to improve themselves in the exploration of ZHI(knowledge) and XING(action).

Chen Xi said that the launch of the program is another effort by Xidian to promote international cooperation and exchanges and to build a community with a shared future for mankind in the context of the epidemic. She hoped that all students can use their wisdom and leadership in the activities and contribute to the smooth development of the program, influencing more young people to make progress while broadening horizons and improving personal abilities and becoming outstanding talents that the country needs and takes pride in .

Cong Mingchang, a representative of the participants and graduate student of the School of Marxism, said that rural revitalization and urban construction are two aspects worth paying attention to and exploring in the process of social development in China. As a young generation, we must not only have passion for truth and knowledge, but also have enthusiasm for great rivers and mountains, daring to stand at the forefront of the times, and experiencing the development of the times.

After the opening ceremony, the program instructor Pang Jianing gave a special lecture on “Digital intelligence technology empowerment, helping common prosperity”. By explaining the concepts of common prosperity and basic economics knowledge, she laid a solid theoretical foundation for Chinese and foreign students for the follow-up activities.
