(Correspondent Zhang Yina) In the afternoon on May 13th, Xidian University-Huawei Cyber Security Elite Program Class Closing and the 2ndSession of Class Opening Ceremony were successfully hosted in the conference room on the first floor of the Administrative Annex Building of the south campus of Xidian University. Professor Li Hui, executive dean of School of Cyber Engineering, Xidian University, attended the ceremony and addressed; Yang Baodong, manager of Human Resources Department of Huawei Xi'an Research Institute, addressed on behalf of Huawei; and Jiao Chengwei, manager of Huawei Security Product Department and other heads, and leaders of the School of Cyber Engineering attended the ceremony. It was presidedoverby Li Guohong, office director of the School.
Professor Li expressed his warm welcome to Yang Baodong and others from Huawei first and briefly introduced the historical development and new achievements of the University and the School. He stressed that in this age of intelligence we were in, network became a must at work and in life. In the day of network risk markedly increased, success of Xidian University-Huawei Cyber Security Elite Program was the significant cooperation of following the trend on the basis of long-term connectivity and full partnership between the School and Huawei in the field of cyber security, and also the comprehensive linkage of talent training and social needs. He hoped that both parties can link the first-class engineering practice experience and talent training ideas between the School, a demonstration project unit of national top cyber security school, and Huawei, and work together and interact closely to promote talent training under industry-university-research cooperation and built a talent highland leading in a new generation of cyber security development.
Yang Baodong introduced Huawei and its business and shared its talent training and technological cooperation. He hoped to take the opportunity of Xidian University-Huawei Cyber Security Elite Program, to further strengthen and deepen cooperation and exchange in talent training and knowledge sharing on cyberspace security and cyber security, to achieve innovation in cutting-edge technology in the field of cyber security and create greater social value and economic benefit, so as to support China's cyber security cause.

The awards were presented to the students who won the first, second and third prize of the 1stSession of Huawei Elite Class by Yang Baodong and Jiao Chengwei. Tong Guolei, who won the first prize, on behalf of the 1stSession of Huawei Elite Class, delivered a speech.

At the class opening ceremony, Lu Yuehua, director of Deployment Department for Huawei Xi'an Recruitment, released the students’ list of the 2ndSession of Huawei Elite Class, and issued admission certificate.
Yang Hai, Deputy Secretary of CPC of School of Cyber Engineering sent messages He proposed expectations and requirements in two aspects, on the one hand, enhance the sense of urgency for knowledge update, strengthen basic knowledge and renew knowledge timely; study theoretical knowledge assiduously and master skills actively, improve overall quality comprehensively; on the other hand, make transition from passive receiver of knowledge to active receiver, be a hardworking learner and valiant explorer; learn genuine knowledge and appreciate essence in practice, and strengthen endeavor and improve skills.
Brief introduction to Huawei Cyber Security Elite Program
Relying on leading cyber security product ability of Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., Xidian University launched the 1stSession of “Cyber Security Elite Plan” together with Huawei in 2018, which aimed to cultivate cyber security talents, providing elite students with more and better learning practice resources and platforms, so as to encourage students to rise to the challenge courageously. “Cyber Security Elite Program” is designed to customize exclusive training program, which integrates theory with practice closely, including three stages, i.e., theory course, project practice, and team scientific innovation competition; based on students’ performance in the “Elite Program”, outstanding students will be selected by learning, practice and competition, and “Individual Scholarship of Huawei Cyber Security Elite Program” will be given, including 1 first prize winner, with 8,000 yuan/person; 2 second-prize winner, with 5,000 yuan/person; 3 third-prize winner, with 3,000 yuan/person.
